Kansas City first met Mark Valentine in the early 70’s as a solo guitar player in The River Quay (now known as The River Market). He added comedy to the mix and did some Vegas. The act became a duo with John Ricker and eventually became Valentine and The Very Wealthy.
In those crazy rock-n-roll days Valentine put out a record called, “Life Is A Beach” A good review in Billboard Magazine landed them at Spring Break on South Padre Island. With a nice little college circuit going and people lining up in Kansas City, Valentine’s career has seen concerts with Eddie Money, The Little River Band, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Nick Lowe, The Byrds, Jim Dandy and Black Oak Arkansas, Dr. Hook and The Medicine Show, Mitch Ryder, Molly Hatchet, Bo Diddly, The Impressions, Betty Wright, Bobby Lewis, Bill Haley’s Comets, John Lee Hooker Jr, Billy Paul, Joanna Connors, Chubby Carrier and more.
.
There has been Valentine and Blind Driver, Dezi Valentine and Fatal Valentine. Currently, Valentine and The Ticklers is my all request acoustic trio, Valentine’s Old School Knights is the Motown/Classic Rock band and The Brew is the 4 piece unplugged jam band that has been playing Sundays at 75th Street Brewery since 1994.
In 2005, Valentine produced The Kansas City Music Blues and Jazz Festival at The Woodlands Horse Track and sold the first TicketMaster Ticket at The Woodlands. He has easily played 6,000 shows in hundreds of venues with hundreds of players. Mark Valentine is one of the few musicians that can put a custom built band into your event
In 2002 they recorded in Nashville with producer and band leader of BNA recording artist Lonestar, Dean Sams, at Sony/Tree studio. The project made it to several major labels and was put on hold by Warner Brothers.
After taking a two year break in 2003 the group came back in 2005 under the Outlaw Junkies name and immediately took the stage opening for national acts. In 2005 alone the band appeared with 20 national acts.
In the spring of 2006 they record their first original song as Outlaw Junkies. “Fools Like Us” won the group “Best new band/duo” on New Country Star.com. The second release “It’s Not You, It’s Her” received national attention.
In 2007 the group showcased for the Kansas and Missouri fairs and festivals associations and performed for over 40 county fairs, state fairs and festivals working with The Oak Ridge Boys, Bellamy Brothers, Mark Chesnutt, Trent Tomlinson and even rock groups such as the Nelsons and the legendary Jordanaires.
Band members include: Brandon Beyer (Lead Vocalist), Tim King (Drums), Cori Jo Adams (Mandolin, Fiddle, Vocal), Troy Wahl (Lead Guitar), Richard Ralph (Bass Guitar), and Daron Tapscott (Fiddle, Acoustic, Mandolin and Harp).

The Wild Women of Kansas City are so unique, so fresh, so engaging, so talented, and perceptional so beyond mortal voices and performance, one easily can find their mind romancing new vistas of spiritual freedom and emotion. They are a reminder of a kinder gentler time for mankind; a time when innocence, character, moral value and human decency were the blueprint of America.
87 year old Myra Taylor has performed with Bob Hope, traveled the world, and still sings with incredible gusto and range delivered with a fun, salty, loveable and feisty personality. Millie Edwards brings a more street magic in her warm voice. Mary Moore is sweet and accessible and undeniably believable in her walks down memory lane. Lori Tucker brings God and gospel straight to your heart.
The Wild Women of Kansas City blend jazz, gospel, and classics like no other group in America, and are a must see.
